Electrical Engineer – Power Engineering

We are working with an established engineering organization in the Grand Rapids area that is looking to add an Electrical Engineer with an interest in power engineering.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an early-level Electrical Engineer or someone with a few years of experience who wants to build a career in power distribution, power studies, arc-flash analysis, and electrical system design.
The company is particularly interested in someone who wants to continue developing technically, obtain their Professional Engineer (PE) license, and eventually take on increasing responsibility for projects and customer relationships.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Strong interest in electrical power, power distribution, or electrical construction.
- Coursework, internship experience, or professional experience involving power engineering is preferred.
- Interest in obtaining FE/EIT certification and eventually a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, ETAP, or similar power-analysis software is beneficial but not required for the right entry-level candidate.
- Exposure to arc-flash analysis, short-circuit studies, protective-device coordination, or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with the NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and electrical safety practices is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Engineers, Project Managers, field personnel, contractors, and customers.
